5 tips for stress-free homework
5 tips for stress-free homework Homework is one of those things that children hate and parents seem to dread. It can be the cause of family arguments and anxiety in those faced with it. But homework doesn't have to be full of stress. With a well-planned after school routine and a few of our simple tips, you can turn homework into something natural and a time for some extra learning whilst giving your children a sense of accomplishment. 1. Have a daily homework routine Homework should very much be part of a normal daily routine, much like making sure your children brush their teeth, have their supper and have a standard bed-time. If you incorporate homework into your child's daily routine, it will no longer be seen as a chore but something that they naturally do everyday. Having a homework calendar is a great idea. Many children have different after school activities at different times during the after-school day. Having a calendar that highlights the time each day your child should be doing their homework will help them get organised; all children feel more settled when they have a routine. Children should have a break when they first get home from school or an after-school club, before delving into more school-work. Allow your child to have their snack or even their dinner and then have a time where they can sit and do their homework. Other activities such as watching television or playing on a mobile device should be saved for after their homework is completed so that they are aware that study comes before play time. 2. Be helpful but don't do it for them There will be many times when your child will need some guidance when it comes to doing their homework. Always have a positive attitude and try to explain difficult problems without giving them the answer. Believing that your child is capable of completing difficult tasks will ensure that they believe they can do it too. Encourage your child to do their own research, guiding them along the way if necessary. Give examples where possible and tell them stories that are significant to their work to give them some ideas. Go through any mistakes they may have made and practice problems with them until you are sure they have understood whilst always encouraging them to discover the answers for themselves. 3. Allow breaks when needed Children should not be expected to sit for long periods of time without taking a brain break. We all know that both adults and children have a certain concentration span and taking a break when needed is of vital importance to their study time. If your child has a lot of homework in one evening try breaking it up and allowing them a snack or a ten-minute time-out in between. Children generally come home hungry from school so having a snack prepared for them or even a full dinner can mean an easier and smoother afternoon. Try to avoid too much sugar in their snacks as this can cause a mood crash a short while later. Instead go for healthy fruit or yoghurt snacks. If your child doesn't need a snack but needs a break you could always just have a chat and a good laugh together, have a bit of fun doing some silly exercises like star-jumps or play a quick game together to reduce the stress and give your child some extra energy. 4. Have a homework station Making sure your child has their own private place where they can sit and do their homework without being distracted is also extremely important. A child that sometimes does their homework on the kitchen table or on their bedroom floor will not feel comfortable and homework will almost certainly feel like a chore. If, however, your child has a regular homework station they will feel better about the work they are faced with and it will help them get into a better routine. A homework station can be a desk in their room or a study and should feel like a place where homework can be done comfortably. Homework stations should be stocked with any necessary tools for their various homework assignments, such as dictionaries, pens, pencils, notebooks, rulers, glue, highlighter pens, scissors etc. That way your child will not have to keep leaving their desk to go and find things that they need. It is a great way to make sure homework is done in a shorter space of time whilst making your child feel comfortable. 5. Keep distractions away Distractions of any sort can be the cause of homework stress and delays. Making sure your child does not have access to any mobile devices, loud televisions or noisy siblings will take away any temptations to stop doing their work and ensure they have the quiet they need to complete their work well. To Conclude Homework may not always be something fun but it does not have to be a chore or the cause of continuous arguments. Following our simple tips will ensure that homework becomes part of your child's daily routine and something that they no longer dread. Make sure you always praise your child for their efforts and be there to support them when they need some help and homework will become a normal part of their day.

Will a No Child Left Behind Tutoring Grant Help Your Child?
Will a No Child Left Behind Tutoring Grant Help Your Child? The No Child Left Behind Act was signed into law by President Bush in 2020 and it became a reality for some of our students who are receiving and attending school through federal funds. While all states are now required to implement the standards and follow the curriculum, there are many that have not yet done so. To help ensure that all children receive a quality education, more students are receiving and enrolling in private schools and those who are studying to become teachers. The federal government provides financial assistance to all of the public school districts in the United States. In other words, students that receive federal funds and attend public schools can receive scholarship or grant money from the government in order to cover their tuition costs.Parents who want to see their children go to a private school need to meet certain criteria and meet certain requirements that will be required of them. These require ments include having an income at or below a certain level, being at least sixteen years old, taking the SAT or ACT tests, living in the United States or qualifying to be considered a national or state minority, and meeting the requirement that they be a member of an organization of student in the United States.Private schools that are planning to accept students must also be approved by the Department of Education. This approval will allow the school to receive grant money from the U.S. Department of Education and for the private school to apply for the money that is allocated by the government to individual students. The criteria is slightly different in each state and even in the same school district. Some private schools do not provide scholarships and the Federal Government will only fund a particular program. Every year the government allocates money based on the need of each child and the type of education that they are receiving. While you will not necessarily receive the sam e amount of money for your child, if your child meets the qualifications they will likely receive money to cover their tuition costs.Even though many private schools are still choosing not to apply for funding, there are still parents who are hoping to see their children go to private schools, regardless of whether they qualify for scholarships or grants. If you have the financial ability to send your child to private school, then this is the best way to ensure that they will receive a quality education.Whether you choose to enroll your child in a private school or a public school, you will find that they both offer the same types of educational benefits. It's important that you keep that in mind as you compare and contrast the benefits between private and public schools.

Introvert Whisperer / How to Lead an Organized and Productive Life - 10 Highly Effective Ways to Lead an Organized and Productive Life - Introvert Whisperer How to Lead an Organized and Productive Life 10 Highly Effective Ways to Lead an Organized and Productive Life In this fast-paced lane of professional life, getting organized has huge benefits in bringing balance to your work and home. The way stress is ruining peopleâs lives is surely a growing concern in the society at large. No one can claim he or she is absolutely immune to stress and its future ramifications. However, it can possibly be tackled and done away with by being better organized. The importance of being organized lies in developing abilities to do tasks efficiently and effectively, yet enjoying the life as it is. Whether you are running a business, working as a lawyer, or are part of a non-profit organization, you need to bring some necessary changes in your lifestyle that can make your life stress-free as well as productive. The following tips will help you become more organized and productive: 1. Develop a habit of writing things down Relying solely on your memory can be counter-productive since at times you are not in your best position to remember things. Instead, develop a habit of jotting things down that you think are important. Putting it in writing will help you recall everything at a later stage without missing on anything crucial. You can also make good use of your smartphone apps to note down important dates and reminders. By doing this, you will have everything from shopping lists to holiday gifts to home décor to meetings and birthdays at your fingertips. 2. Prepare the next dayâs to-do list the night before Preparing the next dayâs to-do list in advance can be helpful for you in many ways â" you develop greater focus, become productive and feel satisfied. It helps you not to waste any time at the start of the next dayâs work, giving you a clear advantage to finish it in a timely manner. Spending even 10 minutes pertaining to the tasks of the next day the night before, forces you to think through them and explain them. Having a fair idea about the tasks in advance, give you a feeling that you have completed half of them in your mind. 3. Avoid procrastination Procrastination kills productivity to a large extent because the longer you wait to do something, the more difficult it will be to get completed. Procrastination is more of a psychological barrier between you and your work. You more often tell yourself that one day you will be ready to make a change; that one day the timing will be better and confidence will be galore. So how will you reduce the phenomenon of procrastination? You need to swing yourself into action and do the following things: Give yourself a deadline Break your tasks into sub-tasks Be accountable Visualize success 4. Keep putting things in their proper places Sometimes you get delayed in your tasks simply because you canât find necessary things to perform your usual chores. Keeping your life organized means keeping your things in their proper places. One of the simple reasons behind successful people is they often keep order by storing things properly. One way to do this is to make easy-to-access storage spaces for things you use all the time. Putting them back to those spaces after use will save your precious time. 5. De-clutter regularly Your goal of getting organized is incomplete unless you regularly declutter your things. Your primary objective should be to manage stress and boost your health by banishing clutter and restoring a sense of order in your world. According to a 2009 study published in The Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, people who kept their homes cluttered and stressful are more likely to be depressed than those who build restorative spaces in their homes. So get started by taking note of clutter zones that heighten your stress or hinder your daily routine. Moreover, a messy workspace can be distracting, so keeping your workspace tidy may boost your productivity. 6. Manage your finances The downside of being unorganized also leads to the mismanagement of money; you shouldnât rely too much on money. You can avoid this by getting finance management apps. These apps can be helpful in a variety of ways such as recording your monthly bills and document your spending. They send you reminders well before your bill is due so you can make timely deposits of your bills. With the help of these apps, you can also take note of how much money already spent so that you know exactly where your money goes. 7. Delegate your tasks One effective way of getting rid of stress and work overload is delegating your tasks and responsibilities. This will help you get better organized and focus on your more important tasks. If you delegate well, you can quickly become productive and efficient, and you will be able to meet the requirements. However, before delegating, you have to make sure that you have someone else who has the necessary information or expertise to complete the task. You have to ensure that the delegation provides an opportunity to grow and develop another personâs skills. 8. Keep a back-up of your documents, passwords and photos You may sometimes get worried by the very thought of losing important documents, passwords and those precious memorable photographs of yesteryears. Such a constant apprehension can drain your energy and productivity. But not anymore! It is better to keep a back-up of your most important things that matter in life. You can scan your memorable pictures and crucial documents and save them either in your mail and easy-to-access disk space. You can also centralize your passwords and sensitive data using an app. 9. Label stored food and perishable items Do you often find unrecognizable jars and Tupperware in your kitchen? In such situations, you are unable to find certain required ingredients for specific recipes since they go unnoticed. So you need to organize your kitchen setting as well because it is important to keep your ingredients in jars with appropriate labels. It will be extremely helpful for you to minimize food wastage by putting a label on all items in your kitchen, along with expiry date, name and quantity or size. 10. Prepare a routine and follow it deliberately Creating a routine and sticking to it helps automate tasks that need to be done whether you feel uneasiness to perform them. A proper routine will help you get better sleep, take up effective fitness regimen and eat healthy food on a regular basis. What you only need to do is to deliberately stick to the routine no matter what. This will bring positive results in your life and make it highly productive in the days to come.
